About Us
Within the ACET Consortium each member retains its own unique identity by working together with other members,
through this organisations can share ideas, resources, knowledge, expertise and best practice, while at the same time avoiding duplication of effort.
Further advantages of partnership and inter-agency working include the bringing together of a large skill network; provision appropriate to the assessed
needs and aspirations of the person; and opportunities for agencies and professionals to belong to a variety of developmental cultures.
Background History
ACET was founded in 1992 on the belief that no single agency can, by itself meet all the needs of people with disabilities.
Working as a Consortium, ACET is able to maximise resources and share information, expertise and good practice.
ACET was established as a company limited by guarantee in 1996.
Thirteen years on, ACET is now an established consortium, with a diverse membership of 12 agencies,
both large and small from both the voluntary and statutory sectors.
